All by ourselves.....

So.... Caleb has had a great day today but yesterday and the 3 days prior to that Caleb had not been feeling well. Finally, after the third day of him not really being all that into his bottles (he usually won't let you take them away and it was work to get him to finish) I called my Dr. to see if we should see her a day early. She wanted to see us and she thought Caleb didn't look like his typical happy self either and he was working harder than usual w/ breathing. He is teething but... she said if this is all related to teething he's pretty dramatic (I did say well... he is my son) but regardless she wanted a chest X-ray and blood drawn b/c we have to be so careful w/ Caleb so....... Nick had a presentation to give, my parents were getting ready to host a bunch of people for a pre-event for a charity golf outing my dad helps organize and both my sisters were working! that meant Caleb and I were on our own to go to the hospital for test; this had happened b/f but that was planned; spur of the moment test are a little stressful on both of us so we like reinforcements.... but we did fine (and Carrie was working so I chose to go to the 86th st hospital as she would be there if we needed anything). We did great and my Dr. called last night to say all the test came back fine. The X-ray showed no aspiration (which is what we are worried about w/ him) just a TON of poop! and the blood test showed no infection, just a possible virus The blood test combined w/ the X-ray made our dr. pretty sure he is just fighting a virus...... Caleb is dong much better today :)

On a side note; I learned that pending on your Dr. you can get all test results within in a hour! I don't know about all of you but I have waited over a week for out-patient test results before. My Dr. checked some box; then the outpatient lab said yep; these will be done in a hour. Then my AMAZING doctor got the results b/f she went home and and called at 5:45 so I wouldn't worry about it all night! If you have kids make sure you get a good pediatrician!!!; it makes all the difference!! I had a awful one at first but got this one recommended to me during my 2nd hospital say (when the hospital doc couldn't get mine to call back, don't believe magazines, my first pediatrician was written up in Indianapolis Monthly as one of the best in Indy and you can guess my opinion of her!) Anyway my new one has been WONDERFUL.
