School Days

First Day of school Post... a tad late but better late than never. We started School this yr the first week after Labor day. Caleb goes Wed & Fri AM's then says through the PM on Wed for Enrichment for 3's & Erica goes for PDO on Tuesdays. I decided to do opposite days to get some alone time with each of them, something that I haven't gotten since Erica was born, its worked out well, but some days I am envious of the mom doing errands in Target solo while both kids are at preschool :).

Caleb: Is doing GREAT! He goes for 2.5 hrs Wed & Fri AM's, stays for lunch on Wed then goes to enrichment for 3's on Wed afternoon. Makes for a 6 hour day on Wed but honestly its going even better than I hoped, Wed afternoon is his favorite part. He's stuck close to the "old" friends, and swore he wouldn't make new ones, but by week 2..he was also friends with the "sisters" (triplets) in his class and this week I heard one more name, so he's branching out from his core group of 3-4 (they were in class together last yr too) slowly but surely. We have his Pumpkin Farm field trip tomorrow -- Can't wait.

Erica: Is in PDO one day a week (4 hrs). She is having a rough start but I love love love the program / teachers. They have a process...she got held the first couple of weeks (the entire four hours almost) now she gets held and then is taught to hold a leg if she needs some comfort -- great idea, they still hold her but work on her doing more self -comfort...and if you know Erica....mommy (or daddy's) little hip attachment, you know that any help she can get in the self-sooth category is welcome :). She cried the first couple of weeks, on the 3rd lots of tears but some smiles. We went to Disney and today was her 4th.. still some tears but more and more smiles plus she danced for them today :). E loves to dance so she's starting to get more comfortable. They told me she made a friend 2 weeks ago, just b/f Disney (that's when she got happy that day :)) and she made another friend today... so I think that's part of the turn around of more smiles :).
