Disney

Wow...two post in one night....the reason, I'm sticking close by to Caleb's room in case he wakes up in pain.... the poor kid had his first ever migraine (we think) bought on by allergies (again, we think) all the the sudden he started crying and saying his temples hurt, couldn't eat or raise his head -- bought him to the couch and he zonked in my lap...lots of googling later and my diagnosis is a allergy induced headache or migraine and "google" says to let him sleep it off so our 3 yr old went to bed at 5:45......not so fun for us tomorrow AM (say at 3!!!!)

Onto better things.....Disney :-)

Was a GREAT trip, fun had by all of us. but also EXHAUSTING. We stayed in the Grand Floridan, and, I'd say if you have kids & its their first trip 100% worth it, it was so nice to be so close to the parks, to have character breakfast / dinner etc... my BIG disclaimer would be I liked the Floridan...not all hotels on the mono-rail. We ventured to dinner at the Contemporary one night and wild horses couldn't get me to stay in that hotel....loud loud loud - it was like still being at the park -- I guess lots of fun for the kids but jeez, I need at least some quiet at the hotel. The Floridan was spread out enough, and outdoors so you got the calmness of a hotel. Most future trips will most likely be spent at a Hilton (points :) ) but we will def. Make it back to Floridan in the future for the kids -- they loved it!

We pretty much let Caleb run with the rides, which meant that while we were at Magic Kingdom on four separate occasions we didn't hit all the rides why.... Well... we rode Splash Mountain 4X, Winnie the Pooh - 4X, Small World 3X.....then MANY MANY others just the customary one time :). We hit all four parks -- some we'd go back to, most only ever few visits, and turn the Disney trip into a Magic Kingdom / Pool / Beach Vacation.

We did about 10 Character Meals (lots of planning ahead) which ended up great b/c there was no waiting in lines to meet them, they came to our tables and the kids got their books signed. Notice...each pic Nick or I are in it....they (esp Caleb) loved meeting the Characters but were still a little young to want to take pics solo :)...

We also made it to the "not so scary" Halloween Party...not necessarily worth the 150 X-tra we had to pay, but we always would have wondered if we should have gone, Honestly, had the heat index not been about 100 that night, we may have had tons more fun -- oh and we went on arrival night...not the best idea, our bags hadn't even arrived to our room and we were off the the party (packed costumes in cary-ons) so

Every Trip has something that overshadows the good...not so much overall, just when you remember the trip you can never forget "xxx" well....this trip that would be Nick getting food poisoning (or stomach flu - he swears food poisoning) --- he was pretty bad and in the hotel room for over a day so I ended up at Epcot & Mickey's Back Yard Bar B Que with a 1 & 3 yr old. Now I'm a SAHM that does the Zoo, Children's Museum, park, festivals, errands with two kids, you name it I do it.... so I figured why not....Unless you have ever been to Disney with kids, you can not even begin to imagine the difficulty of this day!!! Seriously!! You have to "park" the stroller about every 3 ft and walk with your kids. Even the "sit-down" meals with the princesses involves buffets (at Epcot) and I was told servers are allowed no where near the buffet (so yes the other patrons had to deal w/ me holding a 1 Yr old and begging a 3yr old to listen as we walked up...I'm sure they loved me :) )... but we made it through and I think I'm just about re-covered :).

All in all...Great Trip & so glad we took the kids --- they had a blast :)
