Caleb's birthday weekend has come and gone...and now all three of us get to catch up on some much needed sleep! Caleb had a fun weekend we think. By the third celebration / party, he stopped playing got a big grin and reached his arms out to Nick to get lifted up to the cake when it was time to sing Happy Birthday. His favorite cake, by far, was the Elmo ice cream cake pictured above, which he got on his actual birthday. We knew it would be b/c......our son does not like cake, never really has and will never eat more than 1 or 2 bites of it but... if ice cream accompanies it he's happy, hence the ice cream cake on his actual birthday :) and the Thomas cakes at his parties on Sat and Sun.
Caleb was also VERY happy today to have his new basement to himself. Something Nick and I didn't account for when not getting the basement completely done and child-proof until just b/f his party is that he had very limited time down there with all his toys last week b/c it wasn't child-proof yet, then on Sat & Sun he had lots of people in his new playroom so this morning was the first time he got to be down their solo, he ran and played with all his toys and was a very happy two year old :).
