No-Go

We were susposed to be in Cincinniti ending our three week mathron of medical test the rest of this week and yesterday and this AM we were....but Caleb's cold got in the way.

Caleb woke up with a awful cold on Saturday AM.... He still had it on Monday AM but we made the trip to Cincinniti anyways to let the docs there decide. We did one test yesterday AM. The (very nice) pulmologist then agreed to see Caleb early as I wanted him seen b/f he got put under today & Wed (I'm an extremely nervous mom about Caleb getting put under). He said that he wanted to at least plan on keeping today's schedule then see how he did but warned us someone else might call it off. Today was just susposed to be a low dose of anthesia & tomorrow would be more.

so...we trecked to the hotel; unpacked and cloroxed the place; had a sleepless night (Caleb didn't feel well and wasn't compfy in his pack n play so it made for a long night) got up at the very early hour of 5:45 to get back to the hospital and....two nurses took one look at Caleb and said "No" get to your PCP to see what he needs (i.e. antibiotics). So they made some calls and the Dr's decided to post-pone the rest of the week for at least two more weeks so Caleb can recover.

This is bitter sweet; obviously we didn't want him put under but... we have asked more doctors than we can count and the consensus is always the same... he needs these procedures if nothing more than to say its all ok (the ideal) or to figure out what we can do to fix it. so.... essentially we are just postponing the inevitable stressful event of getting Caleb put under 2 X in 2 days; something we both just want to be over with!

Caleb's PCP put him on steroids to help him heal faster so hopefully we have a healthy baby boy soon! At least he gets to be home to finish enjoying some of the great weather we've been having!
