Almost Done :)

So.... I had this "problem" this summer with finding garage sale finds. I was never really into them before, then I went to look for outdoor toys for Caleb (I'm cheap and didn't see the point in paying full price to let it sit outside in the rain etc..) and I found so many good deals. I don't know if it was the economy or what, but people were selling good toys! Nick, at one point, encouraged me to buy the toy I was looking for at full price new, rather than go to more garage sales, because he kept saying I went to save but we ended up in the negative ;).

I got mostly outdoor toys, but a few really cute indoor ones. last weekend, I just got the little tikes swing n slide castle (for indoors for us) for $30, and it looked like it had never been used!

In my quest for toys, I saw these booths for sale, they had a bunch and I waited until the end of the day and they had four left, selling for $15 a piece! I got all four and developed a plan to re-finish them and use them as seating in our basement (which is still unfinished, but still on the to-do list to finish). It ended up being a huge huge project (much bigger than expected when I decided to get them). It ended with tearing out all padding, batting etc..in addition to the ulpolstry, using a disgusting oil based primer on the wood that hides smoke smell, lots of baking soda, vinegar, Lysol, scrubbing and pulling pulling pulling all the staples out but in the end.... we got something I think will look Ok in the basement and it will give us lots of seating / eating & snacking areas. Now... I just need to find or come up with a cute idea for tables.... I have one but we will see how it turns out (that project is on the schedule for a little while out)

What we stared with

In-Process

Almost complete... (we have a few touch-ups left)
