Cinnci is postponed...again. This time b/c Caleb has a very bad cold/allergies right now. Most are leaning towards the thought that it is allergies that his airway couldn't handle so it developed into a cold-like thing...hence the new script for D-allergy.
Since it is not emergent that we get the triple scope & chest CT done, it is better to wait until he is 100% healthy due to the small increases in risk with anesthesia you have when your lungs are sick, especially since he already has airway/lung issues which puts him at an increased risk already.
Its a good thing its post-poned if there is any increased risk at all but.... at the same time, after many many conversations (one lasting over 45 minutes with a cinnci nurse last night) I have come over to the "dark" side and agree he needs this done! so I just want to get it done!
He is still doing fabulous and continuing to amaze everyone but... as the cinnci nurse finally convinced me last night (which I have been told many times before) the scope will do one of two things.
- It will tell us what we hope and that is that he is recovering on his own (with therapy, or with cord blood...who knows and who cares... he is just getting better :) ), and we just need to let it happen or
- What is it that we need to fix.
Regardless, he won't stop getting treated as a "sick kiddo" in the medical world until we discover one of the two.
it going to be pushed out at least 4 weeks (one study shows you wait at least 3 weeks after the lung "disease" (aka sickness) is gone b/f anesthesia when not emergent) so I will get told when we are coming back later today, likely end of may / beginning of June pending on this Cinnci Pulm & Ent docs procedure availability
